Northern Region and Cairns Squash reserves the right to move or cancel this event should there be the need due to the Covid-19 pandemic or other unforeseen circumstances. We will need to follow the Covid-19 Safe Plan. Under the current rules (which may change), the Sportsworld squash area can have 40 spectators plus 16 people playing on the eight courts. At this stage we would ask parents to move out of the centre after watching their own child/ren play to allow others to enter to watch their own children's matches. One player will be sitting in the scoring chair and one player will need to sit in a chair on the floor to referee. Their is no access to showers. We will not be crowding around one court to watch the finals and the presentation will need to be organised with social distancing in mind.

The Forth Northern Region Junior Tournament, the 2020 Smithfield Dental Cairns Junior Squash Championships, will be hosted at the Cairns - Sportsworld Fitness Centre on the 29th and 30th August 2020.

The 2020 Smithfield Dental Cairns Junior Squash Championships is a premium regional junior tournament with OVER $1800 in PRIZES/GIFT CARDS.

For 2020 this Championship will not be compulsory and their will be no Redback team selected as their is no teams event at the 2020 Queensland Junior Championship (QJC).

The 2020 NR age Champions will be awarded from the results of these Championships. Players must compete in this tournament to be eligible to be the 2020 NR Age Champions.

Games may be scheduled for Friday evening for available players. Otherwise players are expected to be available between 8:30 am and 5 pm on Saturday and Sunday except with prior approval.

The 2020 Smithfield Dental Cairns Junior Squash Championships will commence at 8.30am sharp on both days. Players are to be present and checked in with Tournament Control 30 MINUTES before the scheduled time of their match. Game scheduling is an estimate of game times. Please be aware we will be "following on".

Continuing on from the success in 2019, Northern Region will continue to run:
1) Two tiers – an aged championship, alongside a novice graded competition.
This will encourage and inspire new players to the sport and tournaments.
2) Doubles team event for Aged Championship Players only.

ENTRY FEES:
Aged Championship Entry Fee - 1 Event $45, 2 Events $60
Doubles (for Aged Championship Players only) - $10
Graded (Aged Championship Players Ineligible) - $15
Minimum of 3 matches..

Protective Eyewear, (Regulation 13 - Protective Eyewear Policy, Squash Australia) and (2.12 - Policy 51, QSquash)
"Any Australian player who satisfies the Squash Australia age eligibility for 19 years and all younger age groups is required to wear eyewear when playing in domestic or international tournaments or competitions"
Doubles: "Protective eyewear must be worn by all players (junior or senior) when playing in doubles competition / tournaments"

MOUTH GUARD - Must be worn by all u13 players during the doubles.
