Welcome to the 2025 CJS Dunlop Junior Squash Open Tournament!
1. Format: Depending on the number of entries, this may be a graded event (possible mixed groups with boys and girls, if needed). Players will play a round-robin/swiss-pairing in groups of strength. Players must enter into the Age Groups that they have particiated in during Jan-Jun 2025.
2. Players must be at the venue at least 30 minutes before the scheduled playing time, and be warmed up and ready to play at the scheduled time.
3. Players must be available to play throughout the weekend, and no special requests will be allowed. Once finalized, match times cannot be changed. We respect our opponents; therefore, no exceptions will be allowed.
4. Players are expected to mark and referee the match following their match. Players to decide who marks and who refs. If the players cannot come to a decision, then we recommend that the winner refs and the loser marks.
5. Players must abide by the rules of Squash SA, Centurion Junior Squash, Irene Country Club, Uitsig Squash Club, Centurion Squash Club and Midstream Ridge Squash courts.
6. All cell phones are banned while marking.
7. In all circumstances, the Tournament Referee’s decision is final.
8. Draws and times will be available to players by latest Thursday 31 July 2025, at 20h00 (i.e. provided you have supplied us with an accurate email address and cell number) or alternatively contact the tournament coordinator.
9. We will also use WhatsApp groups to confirm draws and changes. Make sure to add correct cell number.
10. Important: Please indicate playing strength in detail if possible, so we can place players in the current groups according to strength.
11. Scoring will be best of 5 games ”point-a-rally” up to 15 points (Age Group U11-U13) and 11 points (Age Group U14 –U19) or according to strength.
12. The Dunlop Pro XX will be the official match squash ball for u11, u13. The Dunlop HA Ball for u14 ,u16 and u19 groups. Groups of different age groups will play with Dunlop Pro XX. The Beginner players will play with a Dunlop Single yellow dot, at the discretion of the tournament organizers.
13. PROTECTIVE EYEWEAR IS COMPULSORY! This includes during the warm-up.
14. This is a fun tournament, but head-to-head results in the same age groups will count.
15. Depending on the number of entries, the tournament will start on Friday at 17h00. Games on Saturday will only commence from 11h00. Depending on numbers, we also might start earlier.
16. Spectators will be allowed according to the capacity of a specific venue.
17. Players must wear clothing suitable for squash per SA Schools’ Squash, Squash SA and WSF regulations.
18. The Dunlop CJS Open Tournament will publish draws, results and photos of players. As this is a part of the Dunlop CJS Open tournament rules, the organisers will deem that players and their parents have accepted these regulations by entering the tournament.
19. Determination of winners (pooled groups): In a pooled / round robin format, the player who won all his/her matches is the winner. If everyone in the pool lost 1 or more matches, then the player who won the most matches is the winner. If there is a 2-way tie, then the head-to-head result will determine the winner between the two players. If there is a 3-way tie or more, then the player who won the most games is the winner. If there is still a 3-way tie or more (based on the number of games won), then the points between those players are counted to determine the winner.
19. Venues will be - Midstream Ridge Squash Courts, Uitsig Squash Club, Irene Country Club Squash Courts, and Centurion Squash Club.
20. The entry fee of R370 does not include a Tournament shirt. The T-shirt is optional and can be ordered additionally.
21. Prizegiving will be on Sunday after the final match at Uitsig Squash Club. Prize winners must be present at the prize giving to receive their prizes.

T-shirt additional: R260 per shirt (orders for shirts close on Sunday, 20 July 2025, at 23h00) - orders for T-shirts are now closed.
